Other candidates for Press Female Athlete of the Year

Tess Solazzo

Ocean City, Senior

Solazzo led the Red Raiders girls lacrosse team to the Cape-Atlantic League championship. She scored 110 goals this season and finished her career with 319 goals. She will play at Ohio State. Solazzo also came off the bench for the Ocean City basketball team that won the state Group III title.

Ashli Weems

Millville, Senior

Weems excelled at soccer, basketball and track and field. She won the javelin and discus at the Cumberland County championships. She will continue her track and field career at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Weems played goalie in soccer and finished her basketball career with more than 1,000 career rebounds.

Casey Hanna

Ocean City, Senior

Hanna led the Red Raiders to the state Group III championship in field hockey. She also excelled in lacrosse. Hanna had seven goals and 13 assists in field hockey and keyed Ocean City’s defense. She will attend Monmouth University. In lacrosse, she scored 52 goals this spring.

Connie Capone

Oakcrest, Senior

Capone was The Press Girls Tennis Player of the Year in the fall. She won the Cape-Atlantic League championship. Capone also swims and rows crew.

Anna Gordon

Mainland Regional, Senior

Gordon is a lacrosse standout. She scored 95 goals in lacrosse and finished her career with 190 goals. She will play lacrosse at La Salle University in Philadelphia. Gordon also played soccer and basketball.
