Football: No. 1 St. Joseph shuts out Oakcrest
St. Joseph High School football running backs Rocco Ordille and Cody Sampson scored two touchdowns apiece as the undefeated Wildcats beat winless Oakcrest 39-0 Saturday in a Cape-Atlantic League American Conference game.
St. Joe (5-0) is top-ranked in The Press Elite 11.
Ordille, a sophomore, scored on a 5-yard run in the first quarter. He also scored the team’s next touchdown early in the second quarter when he hauled in a 20-yard pass from Anthony Giagunto.
Sampson, a junior, scored on a 63-yard run in the second quarter, and added the final TD on a 23-yard run in the third quarter.
Senior running back Miles Pease opened the scoring for the host Wildcats with a 74-yard run 1 minute, 8 seconds into the game. Lakis Wright, a junior fullback, scored the finaltouchdown on a 61-yard run late in the second quarter to make it 33-0.
