3-0 Holy Spirit remains No. 1 in new football Elite 11

The Holy Spirit High School football team remains No. 1 in The Press Elite 11 rankings this week.

The Spartans (3-0) have shut out two of their opponents.

No. 5 St. Joseph and N.o. 8 Millville are the other two Cape-Atlantic League teams in the Elite 11.

Lacey Township at No. 9 is the lone Shore Conference team in the Elite 11. The Lions rallied to beat Toms River South 32-24 on Friday behind backup quarterback Connor Davis, who came in after Lions starter Tom Kelly left the game a few plays after he took a helmet-to-helmet hit. Davis completed 15-of-20 passes for 206 yards and two touchdowns.
