Daily Mike Trout update: Goes 0-for-5, gets hit by a pitch and drives in a run

Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 21, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Sunday: Was 0-for-5, got hit by a pitch and drove in one run in a 10-9 loss to the Pirates.

Today: The Angels are off. On Tuesday, they will play at Detroit at 7:08 p.m. Rick Porcello (4-4, 4.74) is the Tigers’ scheduled starter.

Stats: Trout is hitting .306 with 12 home runs, 46 RBIs, 53 runs scored and 17 stolen bases on 20 attempts in 76 games.
