Cumberland Regional senior 126-pounder William Elliott was eliminated from the tournament with a 9-2 loss against Madison's Patsy Davis in the preliminary round.
Davis jumped out to a quick 4-1 lead in the opening period and maintained command through the rest of the bout. Elliott's only points came on a pair of escapes.

Highlight wins: Won an 8-4 decision against Pennsville’s John Ecret for his second District 31 title on Feb. 18. Won an 8-7 decision against two-time state qualifier Mike Jiampetti of Absegami in the Region 8 semifinals to assure himself a spot in the finals and the state tournament.
Seed: Bottom bracket No. 8 seed.
Road to A.C.: Won his second District 31 title and then finished second in Region 8.
Elliott, who became the first wrestler in school history to win 100 matches this season, opens with a prelim against Madison’s Patsy Davis. The Elliott-Davis winner will face top-seeded Kevin Devoy of Burlington Township. Devoy has finished fourth in the state three times and is a perfect 38-0 this season.
