Baseball roundup: Erik Arenberg's 7th-inning double lifts Middle Township
Erik Arenberg's tiebreaking double in the top of the seventh inning helped Middle Township High School defeat Wildwood 6-4 in the Warrior Classic baseball championship game Monday.
With the game tied 4-4 in the seventh, Steve Hand singled and stole second base before Arenberg doubled to right-center field. A Wildwood error allowed another run to score. Arenberg, who went 2-for-3 with a run and three RBIs, was named the tournamen's MVP.
Hand pitched a complete game with four strikeouts and retired the side in order in the bottom of the seventh.
For Wildwood, Anthony Korobellis and Matt Rucci were each 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
