Lacrosse roundup: Jon Mitchell leads Oakcrest boys to playoff win

Oakcrest High School's Jon Mitchell scored three goals and added two assists as the host Falcons beat Red Bank Regional 10-8 on Friday in a South Jersey Group II first-round boys lacrosse game.

Also for the sixth-seeded Falcons, Blake Biren added two goals and two assists, and Chris Heitzer had two goals an assist. Oakcrest goalie Nick Verzicco had 23 saves. Red Bank was the 11th seed.

The Falcons meet the winner between third-seeded Allentown and No. 14 Ocean Township on Tuesday.

Mainland senior attack man Ryan Bralski scored five goals, including his 100th career goal. Bralski has 103 goals. The host Mustangs scored five goals in the first quarter. Dylan Sykora had 16 saves for the winners.

For Vineland, Calvin Stiles scored four goals.
