The Cedar Creek High School boys lacrosse team won their first game in program history Thursday when they defeated Holy Spirit 10-9 in five overtimes.
The Pirates are still in the first year of their lacrosse program and dropped their first four games of the year. Three of those four came by two goals or less.
"It felt great. It was a long game and a real gut check for those guys." Cedar Creek head coach George Cappuccio said about the team's first win, "It was great to see them push through it and get the win."
Cedar Creek was led by Zach Kondrach scoring five goals. Andre Avila added four goals for the Pirates. Cedar Creek's Nick Manning scored the game-winner.
