The Cedar Creek High School boys lacrosse team won its first game in program history Thursday when it defeated Holy Spirit 10-9 in five overtimes.

The Pirates are still in the first year of their lacrosse program and dropped their first four games of the year. Three of those four came by two goals or less.

"It felt great. It was a long game and a real gut check for those guys." Cedar Creek head coach George Cappuccio said about the team's first win, "It was great to see them push through it and get the win."

Matt Lindholm led the Caper Tigers with four goals for Lower.

Vineland's Mike Ostrowski scored three goals.

Dylan Jinks and Brendan Mullen scored four goals and added two assists each for the Rams.

Jinks scored his 70th goal of the season, setting a single-season school record. He also registered his 100th point of the season.

The Rams will play in the Shore Conference semifinals at Monmouth University on Saturday against Christian Brothers Academy.
