Softball roundup: No. 7 Sacred Heart holds off Wildwood Catholic

The Sacred Heart High School softball team, No. 7 in The Press Elite 11, defeated Wildwood Catholic 2-1 in a Cape-Atlantic League National Conference game Tuesday.

Sacred Heart's Danielle Lugo walked and stole second with one out in the fifth. Lugo moved to third on a Samantha Caterina single and then scored the game-winner on a suicide squeeze by Gabby Castellini.

Wildwood Catholic pitcher Jackie DeLong finished with nine strikeouts.
