The Pinelands Regional High School softball team beat Kingsway Regional 3-1 on Saturday in the first round of the 16-team Overbook Tournament at Overbrook High School.

Winning pitcher Emma Neuweiler allowed six hits, walked two and struck out two. Neuweiler also went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Breanna Wilson went 2-for-4 with a run for Pinelands (5-1). Wildcats catcher Alison Waldron was 1-for-1 with a sacrifice fly and threw out two runners at second base.

Pinelands will play Glou-cester City at 11 a.m. today in a quarterfinal game at Over-brook. The semifinals are at 1 p.m. and the final is at 3 p.m.

Millville's Kody Mae Makos went 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs in the Overbrook Tournament game.

Millville scored four runs in the fifth inning to end the game on the 10-run rule. Catcher Rachel Rivera went 2-for-3 with a home run. Casey Derella was 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs for the Thunderbolts. Corie Collins went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two stolen bases.

Millville plays host Overbrook at 11 a.m. in the second round today.

Mariana singled to start the inning, and a single and a walk loaded the bases.
