Track and field: Cumberland girl wins Tri-Country Conference high jump

Shekinah Lightfoot of Cumberland Regional High School won the high jump Thursday at the Tri-County Conference Track and Field Championships at Delsea Regional.

Lightfoot jumped 5 feet, 4 inches for first place. Her teammate, Lauren Whelan, came in second (5-2). Other second-place finishes for the Colts girls were Kristiana McCowan (100-meter dash, 13.01 seconds) and Corin Chick (discus, 118-2).

In the boys meet, Cumberland’s Tyren Johnson was second in the long jump. His 21-31/4 leap was a half-inch shy of Delsea’s Marcus Williams. Dennis Spence was third in the 110 hurdles in 15.29 seconds and 400 hurdles in 58.57. Marcus Scott was third in the 100 dash in 11.37.

Wildwood’s Wes Hills was third in the 400 in 50.96.
