Cancellations due to Hurricane Sandy

Atlantic County

All Atlantic County Public Health Clinics scheduled for Monday, October 29 are cancelled, including the public flu shot clinic at Congregation Beth Israel in Northfield.

The ACUA trash, recycling and yard waste collection services will not take place on Monday or Tuesday. At this time, there are no plans to make up these collections. Materials will be collected on the next regularly scheduled collection day.

Atlantic County Special Services School District - will be closed on Monday, October 29th & Tuesday, October 30th.

Atlantic County government offices will be closed on Monday, October 29, due to Hurricane/Tropical Storm Sandy. This includes the county’s 10 library branches and nine senior centers.

Atlantic City schools are closed Monday and Tuesday.

Atlantic Christian School in EHT will be closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Richard Stockton College, both the main campus and the Seaview facilities, will be closed Sunday through Tuesday. Atlantic Cape Community College will also be closed over that span.

Atlantic Cape Community College has closed its three campuses Sunday, Oct. 28, through Tuesday, Oct. 30. Rutgers University classes offered at Atlantic Cape also will be cancelled. Visit www.atlantic.edu for updates.

The Atlantic County Special Services School District’s Miles for Student Smiles 5K has been postponed until Sunday, Nov. 4.

The Absecon Public Schools are closed on Monday, Oct. 29 and Tuesday, Oct. 30 as per the Atlantic County Office of Emergency Management.

Atlantic City: Absecon Lighthouse will be closed Sunday and Monday, Oct. 28 and 29, for the safety of our guests. Regular hours will resume Thursday, November 1st, with the Lighthouse being open Thursdays through Mondays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Atlantic City schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday. A blood drive scheduled for Monday by the Atlantic City High School Chapter of the American Red Cross has been canceled.

The Atlantic City Free Public Library and Atlantic City Historical Museum will be closed Sunday and Monday.

Atlantic City’s Halloween Fun Night at Bader Field has been canceled for Tuesday due to the storm. Organizers are asking people to hold on to their tickets in case of a new date.

The Oceanside Charter School in Atlantic City will be closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Brigantine: Block Party and Dog Parade scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 27 has been postponed to Saturday, Nov. 4.

The Brigantine Public Schools will be closed on Monday, Oct. 29 and Tuesday, Oct. 30 due to the storm.

The Buena Regional School District will be closed on Monday, Oct. 29 and Tuesday, Oct. 30.

Egg Harbor City Schools will be closed on Monday, Oct. 29, and Tuesday, Oct. 30, due to the storm.

Egg Harbor Township Schools will be closed on Monday, Oct. 29 and Tuesday, Oct. 30 due to the storm.

Galloway Township: Galloway Township schools are closed Monday and Tuesday.

Greater Egg Harbor: All three Greater Egg Harbor high schools, Oakcrest, Absegami, and Cedar Creek, will be closed Monday and Tuesday.

Hamilton Township: Hamilton Township Schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday. Also, Trick or Treating has been moved from Oct. 31 to Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. The Township of Hamilton Police Department and Office of Emergency Management are still monitoring the progress of Hurricane Sandy. There are no travel bans in effect, but a flood watch has been issued for the area until 6 am Tuesday.

Hamilton Mall will be closed at 3 p.m. Sunday. The mall will remain closed on Monday.

The Linwood Public Schools will be closed on Monday, Oct. 29 and Tuesday, Oct. 30 due to the storm.

Mainland Regional High School in Linwood will be closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Margate: Municipal court session will not take place on Monday.

Lucy the Elephant in Margate will close at 3 p.m. on Sunday and reopen on Wednesday, Oct. 31, if conditions permit.

Mullica Township’s Halloween Parade has been rescheduled for Sunday, Nov. 4.

Northfield Community School, grades K to 8, will be closed on Monday and Tuesday due to the impending storm.

Pleasantville: Pleasantville schools are closed Monday and Tuesday.

Richland: St. Augustine Prep High School will be closed Monday and Tuesday.

The Somers Point School District will be closed Monday and Tuesday due to inclement weather caused by Hurricane Sandy.

All branch offices of Ocean City Home Bank will be closed Monday, Oct. 29.

Cape May County

Woodbine: “Trunk or Treat” event scheduled for Wed., Oct. 31 on the Woodbine Bikepath has been postponed, will be rescheduled.

Stone Harbor: Bulk trash pickup collection scheduled for Monday, Oct. 29 is postponed until the the following Monday, Nov. 5th.

Ocean City: The crowning ceremony of Ocean City’s Dog of the Year is postponed from Sunday, Oct. 28 to Sunday, Nov. 4 at the Port O’ Call at 15th Street and Boardwalk.

The “Greater Ocean City Theatre Company presents ‘A Family Reunion To Die For’, An Interactive Murder Mystery”, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday has been cancelled.

The Ocean City School District will be closed on Monday, Oct. 29 and Tuesday, Oct. 30.

Wildwood Crest: The Trunk or Treat Halloween event scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 30 has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.

All Wildwood District Schools will be closed Monday, Oct. 29 and Tuesday, Oct. 30 due to the effects of the storm.

Cape Trinity and Wildwood Catholic High School in North Wildwood are closed Monday and Tuesday.

Middle Township Public Schools will be closed on Monday and Tuesday due to weather.

West Cape May Elementary School will be closed on Monday, Oct. 29 and Tuesday, Oct. 30.

Morey’s FEARS is now closed for the season.

Avalon: Borough Hall will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 29th and 30th. Trash and recycling collection conducted by Waste Management scheduled to begin on Monday has been suspended until further notice. The Avalon Department of Public Works has a courtesy trash and recycling drop off center at 15th Street and Dune Drive that is open for your convenience. The Avalon Free Public Library will close on Saturday at 3 p.m. and remain closed through at least Tuesday, Oct. 30th. Avalon’s Trunk or Treat event has been postponed.

All branch offices of Ocean City Home Bank will be closed on Monday, Oct. 29.

Cumberland County

Vineland City Hall will be closed Tuesday.

Fairfield Township School in Bridgeton will be closed on Monday.

The One-Book-One-College presentation by author Joyce Carol Oates, scheduled for this Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m at Cumberland County College, has been postponed. The presentation has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m.

Southern Ocean County

The Stafford Township School District and Southern Regional School District have announced that school will be closed Monday, and no after-school activities will be held due to weather conditions.

Statewide

All state offices will be closed Tuesday for non-essential employees.

All state parks and historic sites will shut down at noon on Sunday for safety reasons due to oncoming Hurricane Sandy, Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Bob Martin announced today.

Persons who are camping now at state facilities across the state are being advised to prepare to leave those sites by mid-day Sunday, and those with reservations for next week are advised that parks may be closed through the entire week.
