Downe Township mayor say bayshore community suffered $30 million in damages

Downe Township Mayor Robert Campebll said his community alone has suffered $30 million in damage. Most of that damge is in the Delaware Bay communities of Fortescue, Grandy's Beach and Money Island, which U.S. Rep. Frank LoBiondo toured Thursday. An estimated 20 homes have fallen into the bay, and officials are still counting how many other homes are uninhabitable.

Meanwhile, FEMA is doing an aerial survey of the Delware Bay community in Lawrence and Downe townships as part of an effort to have those municipalities included as official disaster areas.
