Vice President Joe Biden is expected to tour Hoboken and the area in and around Seaside Heights with Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno today, according to the White House.

Biden will take the one-day trip to view damage from Hurricane Sandy and thank first responders, according to the White House. Hoboken and Seaside Heights were among the communities that suffered substantial damage, including the loss of the boardwalk in the latter locale.

Two days after Sandy devastated the state and region, President Barack Obama flew to Atlantic City International Airport. He and Gov. Chris Christie took a helicopter tour of the damage in South Jersey on Oct. 31. He later traveled by motorcade to Brigantine, where he comforted survivors.
