Sandy victims have until Jan. 30 to apply for FEMA, Small Business Administration aid
People who suffered property damage during Hurricane Sandy have until midnight Jan. 30 to apply for money from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and Small Business Administration.
People who have sustained a loss due to Sandy are encouraged to register with FEMA even if they have insurance. FEMA assistance may include grants for temporary housing, essential home repairs, personal property losses and other disaster-related needs not covered by insurance. The SBA can also provide low interest loans for businesses and property damage. Residents can register with FEMA at DisasterAssistance.gov, via smartphone or tablet at m.fema.gov, or through the 24-hour numbers 800-621-3362 or (TTY) 800-462-7585
