New Jersey non-profits working to provide relief for Hurricane Sandy can apply for grants through a new state agency.
The Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund Inc. will administer money to non-profits working to help residents in the state with a focus on four key areas: housing assistance, social services, financial and legal aid, and economic development.
The deadline for the current grant cycle is March 15 – with a target of $5 million. Application are available at www.SandyNJReliefFund.org.
Applicants must be a 501(c)3 tax-exempt non-profit, overhead costs will be limited to 10 percent, and start-ups will be considered if the project being considered fits into the agency’s mission. Groups that are headquartered out-of-state but are active in helping residents in the state are eligible.
The minimum grant request is $10,000.
