Also known as "The Queen City," this tiny town by the sea on Long Beach Island is a family hotspot during the summer season. The borough has white sugar sand beaches, the island's only amusement park, restaurants and shops to satisfy everyone's interest. In the heart of Beach Haven, families won't find a boardwalk, but Bay Village and Schooner's Wharf might just do. Fantasy Island Amusement Park, features an arcade, rides, food and daily and evening activities for children and teenagers.
Thundering Surf Water Park, located adjacent to Fantasy Island Amusement Park on Eighth Street and Bay Avenue, can provide a cool break from the hot beach on any afternoon. Beach Haven is also home to some of the most challenging miniature golf courses on LBI.
The beach can be reached by a short trek up any side street, although the best access can be found at Centre Street where there is a deck and a wheelchair ramp. Visitors can expect some of the most crowded beaches on the island during the height of the summer season.
The borough does not permit pets, picnics, or alcohol on the beaches. Beach badges are required.
On the bay, parents can find a children's beach at Taylor Avenue. There is also a basketball court and playground located here. Beach badges are required.
Parking is a slim commodity during the summer season and visitors should be sure not to park in front of driveways of private residences on side streets. The best chance for ample street parking is at Centre Street, Engleside Avenue and Coral Avenue. There are public parking lots on Taylor Avenue, Dock Road and near the Bay Village shops.
If you're looking for a restroom, facilities in businesses are usually only for customers.
There are restrooms at Centre Street and on Dock Road on the bayside, as well as in Schooner's Wharf and the Bay Village shopping area
