Sea Bright is home to seven private beach clubs and a public municipal beach. The beach is small, but popular, so arrive early to beat the crowds. While the town is just east of the wealthy borough of Rumson, the beaches here draw a diverse crowd of visitors from all over the state.
The public beach hosts a volleyball net, so bring a beach ball and start a game.
The town is also home to Anchorage Beach, a free, but unguarded, public beach. It's a popular spot for fisherman and surfers.
Many of the beach areas in the town are private beach clubs, but once you purchase a badge, you may wander to the public access areas in front of them. However, the amenities are off-limits to non-members, and lifeguards will vary.
Coolers, food, and non-alcoholic beverages (no glass containers) are allowed on the beach. If you'd rather not pack a lunch, there is a concession stand available near the main beach entrance at Ocean Avenue and River Street. There are also plenty of restaurants and shops in town, many within walking distance.
Restrooms are located near the beach entrance as well. Outdoor showers are available on the beach.
There is a free municipal parking lot near the beach entrance. However, it is shared with local businesses and spaces fill up quickly. Your best bet is to plan on arriving early.
Badges cost $8 daily, with $4 specials on Wednesdays. Season badges cost $100 or $35 for seniors ages 65 and older. Children 11 and younger are free. For more information, call 732-842-0215.
