After the craziness of Halloween, it's nice to wind down with Ocean City's annual Quiet Festival, which begins with paper airplane making and flying with licensed pilot Ken Thorpe at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at the playground at Eighth Street and Haven Avenue. The low-key fun continues with more paper airplane making at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at Tabernacle Youth Center, Fifth Street and Asbury Avenue. The festival's official opening takes place at noon Nov. 12 in front of City Hall, Ninth Street and Asbury Avenue, featuring Yawn Along to the tune of Beautiful Dreamer, an inspirational maple pod drop, a tinkling concert by the world's only wind chimes band and more.

Events include an open poetry reading, concrete-visual poetry display and discussion about why poetry is important from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 12 in Room 116 of the Ocean City Library, free admission, and a Paper Clip Art Contest, 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 13, at Kids Creations, 811 Asbury Ave.For more information on all of the weekend's events, call 609-525-9300.
