Puppet shows for President's Day weekend

Looking for something to do with the kids this weekend? How about some good old-fashioned entertainment. The Brownstone Puppet Theater at Gardner's Basin in Atlantic City has a Presidents Day weekend of shows scheduled.

The "Great American Teddy Bear Show," plays Saturday through Monday. Times vary. Admission is $6 adults, $5 children, free ages 3 and younger. 609-742-6956.

The show isn't the only attraction at the theater. Anyone with a curiosity about puppets or who remembers them fondly from their childhood will find a great deal to look at and experience at the Brownstone Puppet Theatre and Museum, which relocated from Historic Smithville to Atlantic City. The museum houses at least 100 puppets from countries that include France, England, Russia and the Czech Republic.

The puppet show lasts anywhere between 30 to 45 minutes. The theatre is on the first floor, and the museum is on the second floor.

The theater is located at Historic Gardner's Basin, 800 N. New Hampshire Ave., Atlantic City.
