Sunset parades at Cape May Coast Guard Training Center

BACKGROUND: The Coast Guard Training Center Cape May is the only Coast Guard Recruit Training Center. While the training center no longer welcomes tours, visitors can attend four sunset parades during the course of the summer.

INSIDER INFO: The parades featuring the base's Recruit Band and Drill Team as well as marching troops, cannon fire, and a low level helicopter fly over. The parade is held on the Training Center's parade grounds and are free. Children should be accompanied by an adult.

HOURS AND COST: The 2010 schedule is 7:45 p.m. May 30, 7:55 p.m. July 4, 7:40 p.m. Aug. 1 and 6:45 p.m. Sept. 5. Call 609-898-6362 for information on the day of the parade.
