ATLANTIC CITY — A city woman was arrested Monday after she was found inside a vehicle she was burglarizing, police said.

Officers Anthony Alosi and Michael Oldroyd went to the 500 block of Trenton Avenue at 5:54 a.m. after a report of a car burglary, police said. On the way, they were informed of another burglary on Trenton Avenue, where the burglar was still inside the car.

The officers arrived to find Michelle Maycott, 41, sitting in the passenger side of the vehicle, police said. The passenger window had been smashed, and a screwdriver and large amount of change was found at the scene, police said.

The officers found nine vehicles damaged and burglarized in the 400 and 500 blocks of Trenton Avenue.

Malcott was charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools and an active warrant. She was taken to the Atlantic County jail.
