WAYNE - Four football players from a New Jersey college are being rewarded for their honesty.

The members of the William Paterson University football team each received $50 gift cards after they were captured on surveillance cameras inside a closed store, paying for some batteries and sunglasses at the counter even though no employees were around.

The lock at Buddy's Small Lots in Wayne malfunctioned and the lights were on, making it appear the store was open Sunday night when the men entered.

Cameras showed them calling out for a clerk. Two can be seen depositing cash on the counter, one waving bills in the direction of a camera.
