ATLANTIC CITY — A city man was arrested Thursday after he was caught by Boardwalk cameras burglarizing a store, police said.

Patrol officers responded to the 1700 block of the Boardwalk after a report that a store was burglarized. The front door had been smashed and $3,000 in lottery tickets had been stolen, police said. Damage to the storefront was estimated at $1,000.

Using the Boardwalk camera system, personnel in the department’s surveillance center searched for video of the suspect. He was located entering the store after 6 a.m. A description of the suspect was made available to all city police officers.

Not long after, Sgt. Kevin Scanlon stopped Keith Faulkner at the 500 block of Indiana Avenue. Faulkner fit the description of the man in the video, and was in possession of a large amount of lottery tickets, police said.

Faulkner, 45, of Atlantic City, was charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief and an active warrant. He was placed in the Atlantic County jail.
