An 18-year-old Atlantic City man is facing assault and weapons charges after he allegedly shot at a vehicle. No one was injured in the shooting.

At 10:40 p.m. Dec. 14, officers responded to a ShotSpotter notification in the 600 block of South Drive.

When police arrived, they learned someone had shot at a car with four people in it. As part of the investigation, detectives sent out an informational flyer to law-enforcement agencies with a description of the suspect’s vehicle.

On Dec. 26, Officer Albert Herbert located the vehicle in the 2500 block of Arctic Avenue and the owner of the vehicle, Juan Aquino Silva, police said.

Silva was charged with four counts of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, tampering with evidence and conspiracy after a continuing investigation by Violent Crimes Unit detectives and Detective Pete Calabrese.

Silva was sent to the Atlantic County jail on $100,000 bail.
