ATLANTIC CITY — Police said officers recovered an assault-style rifle from a city man after conducting a motor vehicle stop Wednesday.

At 11:58 a.m., Sgt. Andrew Leonard and Detective Darrin Lorady stopped Robert Bostic, 44, on the 1900 block of Atlantic Avenue, Sgt. Kevin Fair said Friday.

An investigation led to a search warrant for the car.

Detectives located a loaded AR-15 rifle and materials used in packaging and distributing narcotics, Fair said.

Bostic was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, certain person not to possess a weapon and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia. He was taken to the Atlantic County jail.
