ATLANTIC CITY — Mayor Frank Gilliam will celebrate the city’s “rebirth” Friday evening with his inaugural gala.

The gala will take place at Resorts Casino Hotel from 7 to 11 p.m. The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a VIP Sponsor Reception and there will be an after party following the gala at Haven Nightclub at the Golden Nugget.

The gala is also expected to include special guest, including Philadelphia Eagles’ Rodney McLeod, former NBA basketball player Dennis Rodman and boxing legend and heavyweight world champion Evander Holyfield.

Entertainment at the gala will be provided by recording artist Jeff Bradshaw and Grammy-nominated saxophonist and flautist Najee.

The proceeds from the event will go toward Connecting the Dots Inc., a non-profit organization providing educational programming for Atlantic City youth.

Gilliam, 47, a city native and former councilman at large, was sworn in as the resort’s new mayor on New Year’s Day.
