The Atlantic City Police Department is looking for a man who stabbed a store clerk during an attempted robbery and robbed another store this weekend.

Just after 4 p.m. on Friday, officer Brent Dooley responded to a store in the 1300 block of Pacific Avenue for a reported armed robbery. A man entered the store, pointed a knife at the 71-year-old clerk and demanded money. He fled after the clerk handed over money.

Just after noon on Sunday officer Martina Martin responded to a store in the 1400 block of Atlantic Avenue in reference to a panic alarm. Martin found a store clerk with a stab wound. A man had entered the store and charged behind the counter with a knife, police said. The clerk fought with the suspect and was stabbed. The suspect fled without any money, the clerk was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, with a non-life threatening injury.

The suspect was described in both incidents as a black man, 20 to 25 years old, about five feet, eight inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black jeans, and an article of clothing covering the bottom portion of his face.
