Off Season Traffic

Traffic heading into Ocean City was backed-up to Rt 9. A detour will begin Tuesday on Wescoat Road between Delilah Road in Egg Harbor Township and Mill Road in Absecon for the next two weeks, county and local authorities said.

The closing will continue for two weeks from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, weather permitting.

The road will be closed due to work by the New Jersey Turnpike Authority.

Police will be on site of the detour.

Drivers should follow the posted detour signs or go a different route.

From Monday to Sunday in Egg Harbor Township, construction could cause delays near the following intersections:

Fire Road and Black Horse Pike near the new Walmart

Old Egg Harbor Road and Hingston Avenue

Tilton Road and the Garden State Parkway overpass

Black Horse Pike and the Garden State Parkway overpass

Washington Avenue and the Garden State Parkway overpass

West Jersey and Reega avenues at Tremont and Fernwood avenues

Black Horse Pike and Riddle Avenue, near Touch of Italy

Tree work throughout the township also will cause alternating traffic patterns and potential delays.
