The Cape May County Park and Zoo will hold its annual Boo at the Zoo Halloween celebration 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 on the zoo grounds.
People of all ages are welcome to don a costume and join in the family fun. Sponsored by the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the event will include activities for the kids, games, candy, entertainment, animals, an inflatable obstacle course, a magic show and more.
Admission is free.
TUCKAHOE – The fourth annual Handmade in America Professional Craft Show hosted by the Greater Tuckahoe Area Merchants Association will be held 9 a.m.-3:30 pm. Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Upper Township Community Center, 1790 Route 50.
A costume contest will be held at 11 a.m., with registration beginning at 10 a.m. Awards will be presented immediately after the contest. There will be a magic show at 1 p.m., followed by a live animal show.
The Cape May County Zoo features hundreds of animals, from alpacas to zebras. Attractions include a Wildlife Carousel; the 25-foot-high Snow Leopard Mountain, where guests can test their rock-climbing skills; the Hummingbird Express Train Ride, which runs through Cape May County Park; a Honey Bee Haven exhibit and more. There are also penny machines where visitors can create a memento of their visit, a photo booth, and the Ark in the Park Gift Shop, where strollers and motorized scooters are available for rent.
Cape May County Park Central adjacent to the zoo has playgrounds, fishing ponds, picnic pavilions, a disc golf course, bike and walking paths, and more.
The Cape May County Zoo is open 10 a.m.-4:40 p.m. daily year round except Christmas Day at 707 Route 9 North in Cape May Court House, Exit 11 off the Garden State Parkway. Cape May County Park is open 7 a.m.-dusk. No pets are permitted.
