A one-vehicle accident on Route 30 east caused delays on Monday, Sept. 2, 2013.

A 25-year-old man from Absecon was in serious condition Monday after a one-vehicle accident on Route 30, police said.

The accident occurred just after 3:30 p.m., when the man lost control of a 1996 Ford Ranger pickup while traveling east just past the Delilah Road ramp in Absecon. After leaving the road, the vehicle struck a utility pole.

Police did not release the name of the driver, who was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus in Atlantic City. The driver was alone in the vehicle.

Route 30 eastbound was reduced to one lane for about one hour while the Absecon Police Department investigated the accident.

The Atlantic City and Pleasantville police departments, the Absecon ambulance squad and the Absecon Fire Department assisted.
