ABSECON - An Absecon man was arrested and charged after police said he cut the hand of an Atlantic City man in a dispute Sunday afternoon.
Police said they responded to the area of New Jersey Avenue and North New Road at around 2:40 p.m. There, the 50-year-old victim and witnesses indicated to a car leaving the area.
Police stopped the car and arrested Carlos Vergara, 36, and said they found a folding utility knife with a razor blade in the vehicle. He was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon, along with weapons and motor vehicle charges. He was taken to Atlantic County jail on $25,000 bail.
The victim was taken by ambulance to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s Mainland division hospital with cuts to his right hand.
