ABSECON - An Egg Harbor Township man is in critical condition after the car he was driving crashed into a tree Sunday morning, police said.

The driver, Robert Sink, 21, was traveling northbound in a Mercury Sable on Ambassador Drive when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a parked motor vehicle in the street then ran off the roadway and struck a nearby tree, police said.

The accident occurred on the 700 block of Ambassador Drive between Chelsea Ave and New York Avenue at about 6:10 a.m.

Absecon Ambulance and Medic units arrived and transported Sink to Atlantic City Medical Center, city division, where he is listed in critical condition. Sink was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Police said the accident caused the 700 block of Ambassador Drive to be shut down for about 3 hours. Absecon Emergency Medical Services, and the Absecon Fire Department assisted.

This case is being investigated by Ptlm. Huenke and Ptlm. Cavileer.
