GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP -- A driver and passenger were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City after the green Toyota Camry they were traveling on the Garden State Parkway crashed into the trees on the side of the road, police said.

It was unclear the extent of the injuries but they did not appear life-threatening, state police Sgt. Randy Wetzel said.

The incident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. just south of the Jimmie Leeds interchange. No other vehicles were involved. Emergency medical technicians from Galloway responded to the crash.
