SOMERS POINT- A resident who caused an accident on southbound Shore Road early Friday was arrested after leaving the scene of the crime, on foot, to his home several blocks away.
Thomas Carver, 25, struck a vehicle driven by Linwood resident Melvin Bennett, 58, at about 6:10 a.m., said police Chief Michael Boyd.
Bennett was taken to Shore Medical Center for his injuries.
Carver was found at his home and then taken to the hospital for minor injuries. Carver was received summonses for reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident, police said.
