A New York City man was arrested Friday morning after guns were found in his car during a motor-vehicle stop on the Garden State Parkway, State Police said.

The southbound car was stopped at about 7 a.m. in Galloway Township because it did not have a visible license plate, investigating Trooper Curtis Sand said. A search of the car turned up imitation automatic weapons, a fake handgun and knives hidden in a briefcase.

Robert Winter, 42, was arrested and charged with possession of weapons and possession of weapons by a convicted felon, Sand said.
