LACEY TOWNSHIP - Police are investigating a car accident that landed two teenage boys in the hospital early Saturday morning.

A 17-year-old male was speeding along Beach Boulevard in Lacey Township when he lost control of his car shortly after midnight just east of Pasadena Drive North. His car slid off the road and slammed into a guardrail, according to a statement from Lacey Township police.

The driver's arms were badly cut, and his passenger, also a 17-year-old male, sustained a minor head injury, police said.

MONOC MedEvac flew the driver, who does not have a license, to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, Monmouth County, police said.

The Lacey Township First Aid Squad drove the passenger to Community Medical Center in Toms River.
