MORRISTOWN - Parishioners are preparing to lay to rest a popular New Jersey priest who was slain a week ago.
A viewing for the Rev. Ed Hinds is scheduled Friday at St. Patrick Church in Chatham. A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for Saturday.
Hinds was found stabbed to death last Friday in the rectory kitchen.
Parish custodian Jose Feliciano has been charged with murder and is held on $1 million bail. Authorities say Hinds discussed firing Feliciano a day before his death.
At Feliciano's first court appearance Thursday, prosecutors said the 64-year-old had been trying to cover up a two-decade-old arrest warrant by using fake names and identification.
