TRENTON - A Quinnipiac University poll released today shows New Jersey voters narrowly oppose legalizing gay marriage by a 49 to 46 margin.
Earlier this month, a Rutgers-Eagleton Poll found narrow support for same-sex matrimony. So did a Quinnipiac poll in April.
The issue is pressing because Garden State lawmakers may consider legalizing gay marriage before January 19. That's when Republican Chris Christie will replace Democrat Jon Corzine as governor.
Corzine says he'd sign a gay marriage law, but Christie says he would veto it.
