A 10-year-old boy was airlifted for medical treatment Monday after falling off a service ramp after leaving the Boardwalk in Wildwood.
Police said the boy was walking down the ramp at about 11 a.m. from the Boardwalk at Juniper Avenue with his mother and brother. The family was visiting from New York for the holiday weekend.
The unidentified boy fell off the ramp and fell about 10 feet, where he landed on his back and then struck his head, Wildwood Lt. Detective Terry Oslar said.
Oslar said the boy's injuries were minor and that he was airlifted as a precaution. A SouthStar medical helicopter arrived at about 11:30 a.m. and left 10 minutes later to take the boy to Cooper University Hospital in Camden.
