Four charged with aggravated assault in Middle Township brawl

MIDDLE TOWNSHIP - Four Cape May County men were charged with aggravated assault following a large fight Sunday morning near the Wildwood Park Motel in Burleigh, township police said.

Police charged Jason Popplewell, 24, of Cape May Court House; Norman Price, 24, of Woodbine; Asaad Price, 18, of Woodbine; and Lorenzo Smith, 27, of Woodbine, with aggravated assaulted, according to Middle Township police reports.

They were lodged in the county jail on $50,000 cash bail.

Police found an injured Rio Grande man at the scene and transported him to Cape Regional Medical Center, police said.

Authorities are investigating.

Police departments from Wildwood, North Wildwood and Lower Township assisted Middle Township police.
