ATLANTIC CITY — A 15-year-old boy was arrested Friday and charged in a brutal carjacking and sexual assault at gunpoint of a woman in June, police said.

Police said the juvenile was the second arrest made in the June 9 assault of a 24-year-old woman and for that they credited the work of the lead investigator on the case.

The sexual assault occured 11:50 p.m. June 9 when two suspects forced their way into the woman's car at Florida and Fairmount avenues. The attackers forced the woman to drive to a secluded area, where they sexually assaulted her at gunpoint.

On June 18, police arrested a 15-year-old juvenile and charged him with the attack.

On Friday, Detective Stacy Cocozza along with Detectives Eric Cruse and Steve Rando arrested the second suspect in this case without incident.

When arrested the suspect was found with five small baggies of marijuana, police said. He was charged with sexual assault, kidnapping, carjacking and robbery and taken to Harborfields Youth Detention Center in Egg Harbor City
