MORNING REPORT: Flooding has many area roads closed. Check our list

TRAFFIC

_ County Road 631 is flooded near the intersection of Tyler Road in the Petersburg section of Upper Township, according to the county. Tyler and Butter roads are also closed.

_ The 34th Street causeway heading into Ocean City is closed at 9 a.m.

_ On Long Beach Island, Ocean County, Long Beach Boulevard on the southern end of the island is covered by about 6 inches of water and is impassable through several towns from 31st Street to Liberty Avenue as of 8:30 a.m. However, Beach Avenue and Ocean Avenue remain dry.

_ The Atlantic City Expressway heading east into Atlantic City is backed up for about a mile heading into Atlantic City at 8:30 a.m. Also, Exit 2 is closed. With Routes 30 and 40 closed, additional traffic is clogging the Expressway.

_ Many parts of North Wildwood are impassable with flood waters, including portions of New Jersey Avenue _ often one of the driest of the city's roads in storms.

_ Downbeach towns of Ventnor, Margate and Longport are seeing flooding subsiding at 7:30 a.m., but only Atlantic Avenue is completely clear of water.

_ Stretches of Barnegat Avenue in Surf City are flooded and impassable from 16th Street to 12th Street - although the entire length is under water at 7:40 a.m.

_ Also in Surf City, parts of Central Avenue from 4th Street to 10th Street are impassable, although the entire length is under water.

_ Flooding on US 40 both directions between Atlantic City Expressway (Atlantic City) and CR 629/West End Av (Atlantic City) all lanes closed and detoured

_ Flooding on US 30 has only one lane open, heading east, from CR 585/NJ 157 (Absecon City) to West of Atlantic City Expressway/Indiana Av (Atlantic City). All other lanes closed and detoured.

_ Flooding on NJ 47 both directions between Hudson Av (Wildwood) and CR 624/West Rio Grand Ave (Wildwood) all lanes closed and detoured.

_ Flooding on NJ 147 both directions from West of CR 619/Ocean Dr (Middle Twp) to West of W Anglesea Dr (Middle Twp) all lanes closed and detoured.

_ Flooding on NJ 52 (Ninth Street causeway) both directions area of CR 585/Shore Rd(Somers Point) all lanes closed.

_ Construction on US 9 both directions between North of CR 609/Cape May County Zoo (Middle Twp) and North of CR 646/Goshen-Swainton Rd (Middle Twp) right shoulder closed from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m.

 

_ Atlantic City Expressway, eastbound of Exit 2, US 322 (Atlantic City), exit ramp closed until further notice.

_ Roadwork on Garden State Parkway southbound beginning north of Exit 30 - NJ 52/Laurel Drive (Egg Harbor Twp) left lane closed.

_ Atlantic City Expressway, both directions in the vicinity of Exit 17, NJ 50 (Hamilton Township) right shoulder closed until further notice.

_ Atlantic City Expressway, both directions in the vicinity of Exit 41, CR 689, Berlin-Crosskeys Road (Winslow Township) right shoulder closed until further notice.

_ Garden State Parkway, southbound between south of Greater Egg Toll Plaza (Somers Point) and south of Great Egg Toll Plaza (Egg Harbor Twp) one right lane of two lanes closed until further notice.
