ATLANTIC CITY – Police have identified the victim of Sunday morning’s bar shooting and said they don’t believe he was targeted.
Malik Green, 26, of Atlantic City is in critical condition at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, Sgt. Monica McMenamin said. Witnesses reported a dark-skinned black man in a green hooded sweatshirt fired and reloaded a shotgun multiple times at Hudson’s Bar about 7:15 a.m.
Green, the only known victim, was hit in the upper torso. Based on preliminary reports, McMenamin said, he was “an innocent bystander.”
The suspect fled the scene, and Officer James Fitzgerald later found the shotgun nearby.
Anyone with information can call the lead investigator, Det. Ed Riegel, at 609-347-5766. Information can also be called anonymously into Crimestoppers at 609-652-1234.
