ATLANTIC CITY - A man was listed in critical condition Saturday night after falling and hitting his head during a fight several hours earlier.
No identification was available for the man or his alleged assailant, who eventually surrendered to police in connection with the incident.
However, police said the injured man was being treated at the Regional Trauma Unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.
Police said they received a call reporting a fight at about 5:10 p.m. in front of the Atlantic City Rescue Mission on Bacharach Boulevard. No information was available regarding what caused the fight.
One of the men fell and hit his head, while the other fled on foot, police said.
Police said they got a possible identification for the suspect, who eventually contacted authorities and surrendered shortly after 10 p.m. in the beach block of Tennessee Avenue.
The suspect faces charges of at least aggravated assault, police said.
Police said both men have stayed at the mission in the past but did not know whether they are currently lodged at the facility.
