An apartment house near The Walk shopping district in Atlantic City was struck by gunfire Saturday morning, police said.

Sgt. Monica McMenamin said officers responded to an alert from the city’s ShotSpotter audio gunshot detection system about 8:45 a.m. They found about eight or nine rounds had struck a building near Arctic and North Ohio avenues.

McMenamin said there were no reports of injuries. The bullets hit between the first- and second-floor apartments.

A white or pearl Dodge Charger reportedly fled the scene at the time of the shooting, she said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Atlantic City police at 609-347-5766 or Crime Stoppers at 609-652-1234. Information can also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.
