Atlantic City Electric says it returned power to about 99 percent of the customers affected by last weekend’s storm as of 11 p.m. Friday.
The utility said it expects to restore power to everyone by the end of the weekend.
Some customers are still without power due to heavy localized storm damage that makes repairs very labor-intensive, the utility said in a statement.
According to the company’s website, there are still 246 outages and 1,008 customers affected as of Saturday evening.
Atlantic City Electric also asks residents to conserve energy during today’s excessive heat so they do not stress the company’s electric capability.
