A 45-year-old Atlantic City man has been arrested in connection with a threat made against the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission office at Shore Mall this June.

Police say an unidentified male called 9-1-1 from a prepaid cell phone on June 29, saying he was at Shore Mall with a gun. He told an Egg Harbor Township dispatcher that he was planning to walk into the MVC office there and shoot all of the tellers.

As a result of the threat, the MVC was evacuated and locked down for the remainder of the day.

Following a more than four month investigation, township police identified Guy M. Costabile, also known as Guy M. Costibile, as the caller.

He was arrested Wednesday and charged with terrorist threats, causing false public alarm and misuse of 9-1-1.

Costabile was lodged in Atlantic County jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.
