An Atlantic City man already serving time in prison was sentenced to an additional 38.5 years for guilty charges including attempted murder.
Roger Howard, 21, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault for a shooting incident on Oct. 13, 2012.
Police responded to a call of reported gunshots that day and found two victims with gunshot wounds to the legs, one of the victims told police his Air Jordan sneakers were stolen off his feet by the suspect.
Howard was arrested two months after the incident and found guilty of 12 charges on March 14. The charges include two counts of attempted murder, robbery, six counts of aggravated assault and weapons possession charges.
Howard was sentenced to 38.5 years, with 37 years subject to the No Early Release Act, on Friday by Atlantic County Superior Court Judge Michael Donio.
Howard is already serving three years for an unrelated handgun possession charge.
